Probably as intense as H2 Geog. Its seriously content-heavy and even though its just MCQs for all the CAs and final exam, its hard to score and too much content to memorise. The average for the CAs are always high and I totally died during the final exam when there were 100 MCQs. I'll not recommend anyone to take it unless he/she is a H2 Geog student, LOVES geog, or just want an all-MCQ elective to S/U. 3-hours of geog lecture is draining, be it online or offline. The profs said that lecture objectives, which came in the form of questions, are important so here is my ES8005 summary.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most challenging and content intensive mods. Not a module for the faint hearted unless you love Geog a lot, and i mean A LOTTTT!..
ReplyDeleteAnyone knows where to get the question bank ): Share download link pls?
ReplyDeleteIt was easy. I strongly recommend it, although the above comments dont. Its fun and although there are alot of things discussed, its not that hard to remember because when you understand it, remembering comes easy. Those people above probably tried to remember without understanding.
ReplyDeleteI was a H1 geog student from a mediocre JC and i would say it would be so much better if there were essay qns because the thought process in geog is so important in understanding.
Btw im also studying SBS and its really content heavy too, but if you understand, remembering isnt problem.
Super crazy 100mcq in 2hr and most mcq answers are all found in the notes, not recommend to take. Quizzes and CAs are hard although I got A in the end.
ReplyDeleteThis mod to be avoided/SU
ReplyDeleteWayyyy toooo much content, but it's a fantastic module to take if you want to S/U, and especially to clear GERPE STS. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteExaggeration by other posters. I recommend taking this mod if you have any interest in Geography at all. The content is NOT (particularly) HEAVY compared to other MCQ electives I've taken; only 10 weeks worth (3 weeks no lectures).
ReplyDeletemid term 1 (20%) - 60 MCQ in 1 hour
ReplyDeletemid term 2 (20%) - 60 MCQ in 1 hour
class participation (20%) - 4 discussion board topics (issues related to the spheres - geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere & biosphere, anthroposphere) and 10 clicker questions for 5 weeks (conducted the following week after a lecture has concluded)
final exam (40%) - 100 MCQ in 2 hours
