Regardless of one's profession or occupation, the probability of encountering a disaster or crisis situation in one's working life can no longer be ignored. Disasters of various forms have become realities that people should be prepared to face wherever they work or live in a technological and global environment. The objectives of this module are to provide students with an understanding of how people react, behave are affected in a disaster, critical incident or personal crisis. It will present some practical knowledge about how an individual or organisation can cope with the traumatic stress that comes with the critical incident or crisis. In addition, the students will be introduced to some concepts of crisis management and how an emergency response system could be set up or developed in the organisation where he or she may be employed.

Elective Type: Ger Pe - AHSS/LA or UE
Assessment: Mid term 40% and Exam 60%
Comment: The professor of this course is an adjunct professor. He is a very interesting professor who always tell true story that will link to the course content. The mid term during the semester i took was 40 MCQs question and it contribute to 40% of the total marks. The exam consist of MCQs, True False and Essay.
You will learn how to deal with crisis and handle the situation in a way that you never learn before. Do take note that there will be no recorded lecture as the professor turn it off. I believe this was to encourage us to attend the lecture.
Verdict: If you need to clear AHSS/LA and is planning to SU it, take this course. The theories are not really test in the exam and thus you don't have to memorize anything. You just got to listen to the lecture and know roughly how to craft a decent essay to get a S.
